Careers
We are a six-decade-old firm with 50 attorneys, located in Union County, New Jersey. We provide a variety of legal services to a diverse client base that includes, multinational corporations, large and small privately held businesses, banks and financial institutions, insurance companies, hospitals and healthcare organizations, trade associations, real estate developers, nonprofit organizations and individuals.
As a general practice firm, we are involved in many areas of the law. More than half of the firm’s work involves litigation, where we have a significant amount of work in employment, construction, commercial insurance defense, general commercial, lemon law defense, land use and medical malpractice defense. We also provide general and specialized business counsel and representation in myriad business transactions, including contracts, corporate law and mergers and acquisitions.
The firm does high concentrations of work in a number of industries. These include banking and finance, construction, cannabis, food & beverage, health care, insurance, nonprofit and charitable organizations. We also provide legal representation for individuals in several areas, with special concentration in trusts and estates, elder law and family law.
Now Some FlavorAs a mid-sized, suburban New Jersey firm, we offer many advantages for both your professional and personal development. Here are some we would like to highlight:
CHALLENGING WORK: One distinct advantage of working at Lindabury is the opportunity to do challenging work relatively soon in your career. Our size and structure -- not to mention our reputation for quality legal work -- give us the advantage of obtaining sophisticated and interesting legal assignments. At the same time, we tend not to be in projects so large in scope that there are countless hours of monotonous deposition testimony to review or seemingly endless due diligence to conduct or micropoints of law to research.
IMMEDIATE RESPONSIBILITY: Because we are not overloaded with tiers of attorneys, very soon after arriving to work at Lindabury you will have assignments that could have direct bearing on the matters being handled. You will almost always work directly with a partner, who will work with the client. As appropriate, you will often have direct dealings with the client yourself. You will know the client, and you will be kept apprised of the matters as they proceed. You will be integrated into the firm quickly and learn the business of law and client service by doing and by training.
COLLEGIAL ATMOSPHERE: Consistent with our approach to work assignments, the firm has built a friendly work environment that has little of the hierarchical atmosphere you often find in law firms. Partners work closely with junior associates and rely on them to do more than pore over documents and perform research. Consequently, our working relationships are collegial and personal.
COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION PACKAGE: Our compensation package is highly competitive for firms our size and in our geographic area. We provide a top-notch health insurance plan, profit sharing, 401(k) and disability insurance for all of our attorneys.
GROWING FIRM: The firm has had a slow, but steady, growth track over the years. We have added lateral partners as appropriate and desirable opportunities have arisen. We also routinely make job offers to associates that have come through our summer associate program.
CONVENIENT LOCATION: The firm is located in central New Jersey, in the prominent town of Westfield. It is convenient to Route 22, the Garden State Parkway and the New Jersey Turnpike. The firm is also convenient to Newark International Airport, which is under 10 miles and approximately 15 minutes away, and to New York City, which is under 23 miles and approximately 30 minutes away. The firm also maintains an office in lower Manhattan.
